I know this is not too interesting but I thought I should mention that I have done a lot of general maintenance to make sure my van is ready for its increased performance. I put in new shocks and struts and had the alignment done. I Put in new brake pads and shoes and replaced a caliper that was sticking. I added a nice big tranny cooler, put in a new tranny filter and a fresh fill with Mopar ATF+4 fluid to help the tranny survive a bit longer. I replaced ALL of the rubber fuel lines with new fuel injection hose and replaced the fuel filter. New cap, rotor, spark plug wires and some Champion RN9YC plugs. I put in a 180 degree thermostat with the bleed hole modification along with a flush and refill of the cooling system to help keep engine temps down. And last but not least I keep the oil changed regularly with Mobil 1.
New motor mounts
I have also installed new urethane motor mounts from FWD performance. The old ones let the motor move around quite a bit and I was afraid of breaking axles. The new motor mounts added even more vibration at idle, however while cruising down the road it really is smooth. After I put in the new mounts I also checked the centering of the engine, it is pretty easy to do and now I know it is right instead of just hoping it was.
